21 Tips - Reducing Exposure to Harmful Pathogens

21 TIPS: Reducing Exposure to Harmful Pathogens
REAL INFO To Date: As may you know, California has many cases of “Community Acquired” (origin of infection unknown) Coronavirus as of March, 2020.
The CDC on Feb 25th 2020 said the disease is inevitable to spread here and has told Americans use the time now to be prepared for possible major disruptions of normal life. Stock up on non-perishable food, fever reducing medication, and daily necessities because some areas may be put under quarantine. California Bay Area is already a high probability area. Let’s hope it is just a drill! If schools close and large gatherings are cancelled, it will be in an attempt to control the spread. Most school districts like with all other serious problems, will be REACTIONARY AND NOT PROACTIVE to DISEASE management.
Should you be worried? Well yes because you need to take active precautions.
For people with diabetes, respiratory, and cardiovascular disease, the fatality rates are approximately 5%-10%. The fatality rate may be as high as 15% in those over 80, 8% in those over 70. That is because it is now assumed that many of us, probably the young and middle aged, are asymptomatic carriers or very mild cases.
It is very, very likely that this virus is already among us more than the 3 reported cases in Northern California. If we have a lot of asymptomatic carriers, then the death rate may be lower than the overall 1.5%-2% estimate. If not, is 2% a lot? Yes. The mortality rate of the flu is usually around 0.1%. That of H1N1 was less than 0.1%. The 1918 flu pandemic was estimated to be between 2.5% & 5%. The concern is not only the fatality rate but overwhelming our health care system with critical cases.
The spread must be slowed to prevent overwhelming our health care services so I am relieved to hear that the CDC will be sending more testing kits to California and streamlining production...because we need to test. South Korea is currently testing 10,000 people per day. California currently has only 200 testing kits.
Is there anything natural or prescriptive that can treat Corona? Fever reducing medication and hospitalization for complications is being advised. The structure of this virus seems to be different from other corona viruses. China is using high dose IV Vitamin C. This may be to fight septic shock and not the virus.
I personally am taking my multi, vitamin D, and C. The intuitive / energy information I am getting is to take Alfalfa or Alfalfa as well as Lemon Balm. Hydrate well and no refined sugar. I have a video explaining why along with a guided healing – watch this.
Note: there isn't enough known about this virus to know if anything I am taking will be protective. As I am not a medical professional, be aware that herbs and supplements in high dosages can be potent so I advise seeking medical advice before starting on such protocols if you want more certainty. What should you do if you suspect you may have Corona? Contact the county health department and/or your nearest hospital. Here are the CDC’s recommendations.
KEEP WASHING YOUR HANDS. USE a Facemask and gloves. USE HAND SANITIZER WHEN OUT. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE. STAY HOME IF YOU HAVE A FEVER. GET ENOUGH SLEEP AND EAT HEALTHY FOODS. Quality Hydration is Imperative.
CDC reference:
- 1. Wear a face mask: it reduces exposure, can prevent unintended face touching and can increase public permission for others to take preventative action. HACK: use a bandana if you can’t get disposable masks and just have a fresh one for every time you leave home. A major reason the CDC has not recommended masks as they are already difficult to source. American manufacturers like Medline are out, many whole sellers/resellers are out and N95 masks normally expensive are at gouge prices (e.g. 7$ original price now $75).
- 2. Plastic/Surgical Gloves: extremely effective way to reduce contamination, cheap, easy and disposable. Source at home improvement, amazon, ebay, medical supply at normal prices (as of this writing).
- 3. Reducing Unnecessary Touching: to your face, things, surfaces, others, etc.
- Wear Glasses: reduce potential exposure; get non-prescription ones cheaply off Amazon
- Hand Hygiene: get a nail brush, spend at least 20 seconds to lather, keep nails shorter and kids nails as short as possible. Reduce decorative items on nails. Hand sanitizer, carry this with you.
- Trash Can on front porch: easily dispose of plastic gloves and disposable face masks before you ever walk into house.
- Remove shoes / no outside shoes in house: reduces dirt along with reducing possible contamination/pathogens
- Reduce or Eliminate Facial Hair to safely work with facial masks
- Dirty Clothes bin at entry: strip outside clothes before going into the rest of your home
- Shower when you return home for the day: this is cleaning for your skin, bed and house than waiting to shower the following morning.
- Companies & Organizations: Arrange remote working plans where possible, limit business travel, postpone conventions. Sorry Tokyo Olympics …
- Reduce or Eliminate Airline Travel: as soon as you step into the airport you are in the “pathogen exposure soup” of international travel even if you only fly domestically.
- Protected Public Professional Workers: School Teachers, Food Service, Drivers, Cashiers, Beauty Service, Medical Professionals, etc. Wear masks when possible and absolutely wear gloves for your own benefit as well as those who you service.
- BAD Social Behaviors: Poorly managed social activities where you are not taking some precautions on prevention when going to amusement parks, concerts, sporting events, etc. because it is inconvenient or wouldn’t look good on Instagram is not ok. Get it together and don’t take unnecessary risks and manage the activities you do choose better for us all. Limit activities with high group exposure.
- Sick Kids Must Stay Home: Keep them home and school districts need to be more proactive on teaching hygiene and pathogen management.
- Declutter & Deep Clean High Traffic areas of Home particularly Kitchen & Baths
- Source Supplies Now: Dollar Stores/Discount Stores have bandanas, hand sanitizer, hand soap, clothes detergent, dried goods like pasta, rice, beans, rubbing alcohol and more. You don’t need to go broke taking precautions.
- Reduce Personal Entertainment Shopping/Retail Therapy: Going out and touching lots of things in public spaces like stores is not a good idea especially if is just for fun. This virus has a surface life of 9 days. Find other means like delivery, Amazon, etc. and entertain with other methods.
- Behave like You Need to “Heal” Yourself: no refined sugar, hydrate well, sleep well, eat veg & fruit, limit animal products (clogs blood and lowers testosterone among other issues), stretch, get sunlight, walk, etc.
- BE PROACTIVE!: Most school districts and some local governments, like with all other types of serious problems, will be REACTIONARY AND NOT PROACTIVE to DISEASE management and will just continue to post “We are monitoring” emails and repeat standard CDC basic information.
- CDC is Subject to Politicians 1st and Pathogens 2nd : While the CDC has disease experts, they are still under direction of politicians and big picture management decision making protocols. They are very used to looking at disease management from the macro level: e.g. annual death numbers in a few thousand for seasonal Flu is something that they are comfortable with so … we have become ok with it too as we are not told otherwise. Current winter 2019-2020 death rate for flu/pneumonia is 6.9% and for it to qualify as “epidemic death rate” it must meet 7.3%. They will not make statements that would adversely affect their abilities to “panic manage”. E.g. if you tell the WHOLE truth and a lot of people freak out, and say stop flying, tourism/transportation takes a significant hit even more than it has, then you bet the companies and politicians are going to deal with them harshly.
